Gel Mani Swagg
So one of my besties has converted me fully - I am now a gel manicure enthusiast. They last almost 2 weeks, always look shiny and pretty, and never CHIP. Melissa got this gorgeous coral color (looks more pink in the photo) and I got a deep purple because I wanted to try something new! Both polishes are CND Shellac (see some shades below) and I highly recommend trying it at least once!
It is very low maintenance which is great for me, I haaaate sitting at the nail salon. My only suggestion (if you have brittle nails like me) is getting your nails cut shorter. This way, your nails don't break or bend causing the mani to crack. This has only happened to me once, and was avoided when I cut my nails shorter (like in the photo above). Hope everyone is having a great week! xoxo

I Can't Believe I'm Saying This But...
I've put myself on a makeup ban. Let that sink in for a second. Me. On a makeup ban. OK breathe, don't freak out.
I always thought it was CRAZY when people did makeup bans, and forced themselves to use the makeup they already had until some of it was gone. I'm like.......whyyyyyyyyy??? But now I get it. Because I have makeup from weeks, even months ago that is still in its plastic, untouched. I went to clean out my makeup drawers again, and realized how much I had actually bought lately and how much of it I didn't actively use.
Before you write me off forever, fear not. I have SO many products that I already have and still haven't written reviews on. So believe me, this blog won't be forgotten or abandon! If anything, this makeup ban will force me to blog about products I already have but haven't used yet. I'm not sure how long this ban (or torture) will last but I want to at least TRY to do it haha. It doesn't really have anything to do with saving money, it just has to do with over-buying (if there is such a thing) and making use of things.
So, that's my story for now. Can't wait to share some new reviews super soon!! Xoxo

Lindsay Lohan - From Hot Mess to GORGEOUS
This is a photo of Lilo at Coachella this year and I think she looks SO much better. Her hair always looked great red in my opinion, and her makeup looks fierce. Aside from the fact that she looks like she had some work done on her face, this Lindsay is a far cry from the one I posted about 2 months ago (click here to read post).
I know this is my MAKEUP blog, but anyone with eyes can appreciate going from the below photo (eek) to the above photo from a few days ago. Way to go girl!

Evil Queen Makeup
In honor of Friday the 13th, I wanted to do an "evil" post! Muahahaha. So we all know what an impact makeup can have on someone's face. The people in this post have gone bad in their recent movie roles - and have the kick ass makeup to prove it!
OK so maybe Johnny Depp isn't playing any type of evil Queen, but his new movie Dark Shadows (he plays a vampire) is totally worth mentioning in the evil makeup department!
So, first up - I can't get over how gorgeous the makeup and costumes are for Charlize Theron's new movie - Snow White and the Huntsman. She is usually so fresh-faced and pretty, and they make her look like a total bitch as the Evil Queen. Between the icy makeup, awesome braided hair and a fierce crown, Charlize is hard to recognize! See stills below:
I am also really stoked to see Angelina as Maleficent!! The poster looks so cool - although it's not difficult for me to picture Angelina as playing an evil-doer ha! As the self-proclaimed Mistress of All Evil, I think Angelina can do this role justice!
Hmm so this is an interesting take on "evil" queen huh? This is Julia Roberts in the movie poster Mirror Mirror (also about Snow White). I mean, I wouldn't exactly call her evil-looking, but I guess her eye makeup is a bit...menacing? Still a beautiful photo though, I love how red her hair looks! Charlize as the Evil Queen

Can I have a replica of this crown please?

Hope this post brought a little joy to your Friday the 13th! Have a great weekend dolls!!! xoxo

Dr. Jart (Whoever You Are): You're a Genius
There has been so much buzz over BB cremes lately, and i'm still not fully convinced I can explain all the functions it has. It's makeup, it's skincare, it has long lasting effects, it promotes even skintone etc. All I do know is - this product kicks so much ass. I have been using it daily for weeks so I could give it a proper review. A friend gave it to me and dismissed it as "uhh, I have no idea what this is and I figured you probably did, so here, have it." Free BB creme? Sure! A few things surprised me about this product:
- How thick it is. I was half expecting it to be more of a serum-type consistency, which is totally not the case. It's a thick, tinted creme that's very luxurious.
- The amazing amount of coverage it has. I'm not the type of chick that can just roll out of the apartment with zero makeup on. I just don't have it in me. When I started using this, sometimes I skipped out on my foundation all together because I didn't need it. It covered up my imperfections and really gave my skin a nice, even look. I still get acne from time to time, so it isn't always easy for me to cover up marks with concealer, foundation, etc. This seems to almost erase them.
- How silky it left my skin. After it dries, the look and feel of your skin is so silky and smooth! I find myself checking out my face in the mirror in disbelief (I know, so self-absorbed right?)
I haven't tried other BB cremes, but if you're interested in trying one I highly recommend this one! Another good thing about it, is it has SPF 45. I'll admit that i'm not the greatest with putting sunscreen on my face in the summer, and it's SO BAD for your skin to constantly be exposed to rays. This is an all in one, throw in your beach bag, sunscreen/foundation/moisturizer hybrid and I love it. I've found that I get the best results when I apply it with my fingertips like a moisturizer. Like most products, I felt like I lost a lot of product when I used a cosmetic sponge.
Now that I've used it daily, i'm hooked. When it runs out, it will totally be replaced! Have you guys tried any BB cremes?
