Sunscreen Sexy & Lip Balm Moisturizer

Hi chicks! Had a bit of writer's block the last few days - now i'm back!! I purchased to different facial sunscreens + a new lip balm. Let me know what you think! xoxo

Two New Facial Sunscreens

Aveeno Continuous Protection Sunblock Lotion (Face - SPF 30)
I purchased this one on a whim (I know, sooo unlike me, right?) I have the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion, which is always rated the #1 lotion in Allure, so I trusted their sunscreen on my face =)

I also looked for something that was oil-free, which it is. It's also water-resistant, and promises longer-lasting sun protection. I'm Italian and already have olive skin, but decided that I need to start protecting my face to prevent looking like an old, wrinkled boot in a few years. Being a beach bum, I'm down the shore at the beach almost every weekend in the summer - it definitely takes its toll!

OK, enough of that. I do like this sunscreen! It dries fairly quickly, and my foundation goes smoothly on top of it. The scent is pleasant, but not in an over-powering way. It hasn't made me break out (thank GOD) so i've continued using it =) All in all, worth the money in my opinion ($9.99)

Neutrogena Ulta Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock (SPF 45)
I've seen this on many of your beauty blogs, and just had to grab one for myself! Of the two sunscreens, I've been favoring this one! I actually grabbed the SPF 45 by mistake - I was going to buy the SPF 30, but oh well =)

This product promises Ultra Light & Clean Feel - and it provides just that. It goes on smooth and has a nice dry down. Like the Aveeno, my makeup goes on perfectly on top of it and doesn't feel greasy. It is also oil-free (a MUST) and waterproof. Since it is Neutrogena and they are known for their skincare products, I actually see my skin improving! It's very clear and soft and i'm loving every minute of it!

I think I will continue to alternate the two sunscreens just to give them both a fair chance. Do you guys have any other sunscreens that you love? Now, on to my new obsession!

Rosebud Strawberry Lip Balm and Moisturizer

Simply put, obsessed. I use this lip balm every single day! It is perfect - silky, soft, smooth! I use it before work, during work, after lunch, while on the phone, before bed (get the idea?)

It leaves my lips insanely soft - I barely have any flakes or anything! I also love putting it on, letting it set in for a few minutes, blotting it, then applying a bold lip liner and lipstick. It lays a great foundation to put any type of lip color on top, and it lasts longer. Since it contains moisturizer, it protects lips from the suns harmful rays. I bought it at Sephora, and will definitely be returning for more!

Do you have a favorite lip balm?

Shu Uemura - Neo Reflector Lashes!

How crazy and cool are these lashes?! At $65, I better be in love with them, ha!

Shu Uemura is known as being an edgy, luxury brand and these lashes are no exception. They are already out of stock on the Shu Uemura website. Crazy, huh?

What do you think? Wearable for a funky night out or Halloween-Only status?

Dior Logo Contact Lenses - Would You Ever?

I think this takes the term "label whore" to a whole new level!

I, along with some of my twitter followers, were...baffled when we saw the new contact lenses by Christian Dior. While the color is very cool with the gold flecks, I can't imagine having a conversation with someone and seeing the initials "CD" stamped on their eye ball.

I love experimenting with different looks, and think colored contacts are a fun way to transform yourself (along with makeup, of course!) but Dior contact lenses? I'm not sold.

What do you guys think?

Obsession of the Moment - INGLOT

LOVE! I walk by this store each day in Times Square, and almost always go in. It's so exciting - bright colors, extravagant false lashes, and so many choices!

Inglot is a young brand in the scheme of things (25 years old). They can be found worldwide in over 200 retail locations, and are fairly priced.

I have to admit that I am a complete newbie to the brand! I haven't bought anything just yet, it's so overwhelming walking in that store. Plus, I'd love to hear what you ladies think and if you've tried anything that you love from Inglot! I am seriously considering stocking up on a few pairs of false lashes. At $12, how could you go wrong? Here are a few fun lashes from Inglot's website:

Cool right?! The last ones remind me of a pair that I wanted from Shu Uemura, but their lashes are $40 a pair! These are more on the outlandish side - fantasy-type lashes but I think they're fun. They also carry more natural lashes, as well as the single lashes (which are impossible for me to apply!)

Another interesting thing about Inglot, is their program called The Freedom System, which is basically your ability to custom create your own face, eye, lip and eye brow palettes. That's HUGE. I know other brands like MAC offer custom eye palettes, but custom FACE? That's something i'd be interested in trying.

The store in Times Square is extremely makeup addict friendly, and you are encouraged to try, swatch, mix, and play with the products. Does anyone have any Inglot? =)

EOTD + Sephora Palette

Hi dolls! Hope everyone had a great weekend! I decided to play around with my Sephora palette a bit, and do an Eye of the Day =) I tried my best with the photos, but unfortunately the colors didn't come out as they really look. Check it out, and what I used to create the look! xoxo

MAC to the Beach Eye Liner in Float On By

OK so, I wanted to do a look with the turquoises & greens in the Sephora palette and do a bright and fun summer look. I also used the eye liner from the MAC to the Beach launch to line the top and bottom lids. I topped everything off with MAC Opulash on my top lashes.

I tried going with a yellow & turquoise look at first and really liked it, but it wasn't showing up in the photos at all, so I decided to go with darker shades that showed up more (I used 4 shades in the green family).

I primed my lids with the NARS eye primer (got as a sample from my Sephora beauty points), but i'm not so sure that I like it. It seemed very watery and wet-feeling, so I don't think it made the shadow adhere all too well. I like primers to be on the thicker, creamier side.

I've been trying to think of other unique color combinations to play with, any suggestions?

Too Faced - Glamour Gloss in Plush

Totally an impulse buy. But in this case, it was a good impulse buy!

I was in Sephora makeup-whoring around when i spotted the sparkly, rhinestone on top of the gloss (ohhh shiny things!)

After further investigation, I noticed that Glamour Gloss had a wide variety of flattering shades. I swatched a few on my hand (as always) and decided on Plush - browny pink shade. It looks great on olive skin =)

The texture is on the thicker side, and has nice pigmentation to it. I often chose glosses that are too sheer, but the Glamour Gloss has a good amount of colour.

One thing I didn't notice before I bought it, was the package says "Volumizing Lip Gloss" with lip injection comfort plump. Therefore, it does give you that tingly sensation when you apply it. I'm not too big on lip plumpers (they don't work at all for plumping purposes) but this gloss ha nice color and texture so I can live with the temporary tingling =)

I know, I buy entirely too many lip glosses (blame it on the makeup addiction) but this is not a shade I would typically choose so I think it's totally justified!

Has anyone else tried it? Have you found your "it" lipgloss for the summer? Share!

Calling All Makeup Mavens

I need your help! I am in desperate need of a face sunscreen. It has to be oil-free and, of course, wears well under makeup.

In the summer, I tan very easily. I have light blonde hair, so when my face gets too tan I start bordering on the Donnatella Versace look (too-tanned face, bleach-blonde hair - not attractive by any means!) Not to mention that it’s awful for your skin to go sunscreen-free over the summer.

Anyone have any suggestions?

LCN Nails

Hey dolls! I just got back from the nail salon and am very happy with the results. I just got my LCN nails in color!

LCN (stands for Light Cured Nails) are amazing. I've had mine on for about 2 years. The manicure lasts up to 4 weeks (yes, FOUR)! LCN nails never chip, break, get yellow or have any of the usual problems that traditional tips have.

Up until recently, LCN only offered the french manicure option. Now, LCN has come out with a variety of different color options to chose from. I picked this vibrant pink and it looks really pretty on my nails =) The only thing is, as the nails start to grow out it will become noticable since the color is on the darker side. With the french manicure, you could hardly tell when your nails were due to be done. It's cool though - I needed to try the color out to see how it looked =)

LCN nails can also be done on your toes too! They last the same amount of time (about 4 weeks) without chipping or breaking in any way. Think about that - during the summer, you would only need to get your nails and toes done THREE times! Amazing!

What do you guys think, has anyone else tried LCN nails? Or do you prefer doing your own nails?

NARS - Orgasm Illuminator

I finally got it!! OK, so it isn't a completely "new" product, but I just purchased it so it is new to my makeup collection =) I have been going a bit nuts with this product - I just love it! I can totally see how some people go overboard with it - the healthy, glowy look it gives you is very desirable and perfect for summer.

I used it in my previous post (FOTD) and was very happy with the results. The directions say it can be applied over or under makeup, and all over the face or as a highlighter. I used it on top of everything - after I put on my base, bronzer and blush I just highlighted my cheek bones with it.

I also wore it alone today while I was rollerblading with my boyfriend outside - it was way too hot for foundation or other makeup, so the Illuminator on my cheek bones and a little mascara looked just right for a fun, beachy day. Despite the insanely hot temperature, it seemed to stay in place fairly well.

I'm not sure if I would put it all over my face - I think it might make me look too shiny (I already have oily skin, so it might be a scary combination).

I have not tried it under my makeup, has anyone else? I want to experiment to see what looks best - I know some of you ladies own the Illuminator, so let me know how you use it!! xoxo

FOTD / Shameless Vogueing

OK, so all my fabulous followers inspired me to do a FOTD (that's "Face of the Day," for those who are scratching their head).

I usually do product reviews & news, but I figured - what the hell! Who doesn't love some shameless Vogueing, beautifully warm weather, and playing with some new makeup?! Enjoy!

Prime Me Pretty

My two newest purchases: MAC Fix + and Benefit "Dr. Feelgood" Balm

MAC Fix +

I can't believe it's taken me this long to purchase Fix +! I'll be perfectly honest - I had no idea what the hell Fix + was. Being an avid MAC customer, I always saw it in the store but passed it on by. After reading an excellent review on one of the many beauty blogs I read, I had to try it out for myself. Turns out, it's an amazing product!

I've used it a couple different ways to experiment so far. I've used it to set my makeup - after I apply my base & blush, I spray Fix + on my face (two pumps is enough) and my makeup seems to stay in place longer. I also love using it after I take my makeup off at night and wash my face. I'll spray it on and it just feels so refreshing and clean. I've heard people using it as a primer before applying base, but I usually don't use a liquid primer. All in all, this is definitely going to be packed in my beach bag for the summer.

Benefit Dr. Feelgood Balm

Hmmm OK soooooo..................yeah. When I purchased this, I was under the impression that it was a LIP balm. I saw the large tin and thought, "Hey, I could use a nice, big container of lip balm." Uhh yeah, definitely NOT lip balm.

When I read the back of the tin, it explains that this product is used for "smoothing away fine lines" and has a mattefying effect. Totally not my thing! I tried using it on my lips anyway, and it didn't work out too well - it drys to a powdery finish - yuck! I'm not big into powders in general - I think it dulls your complexion and makes you look older. I'm more in favor of a dewy, glowing look (with lots of illuminators and bronzers!) I'm in my 20's, so I don't really have a use for a "fine line" correcter. Guess I should have read into it more.

Does anyone have any good uses for either of these products? I love hearing your suggestions!
