Daytime Sultry Eye

I felt like switching it up today with a little daytime smoke

I used a light brown shadow so the smokey eye wasn't too crazy for daytime

Liquid liner on the top, a bit of black eye pencil underneath
And of course, mascara is a must!

This Smashbox gloss is such a nice alternative to a nude lipstick
The little gold flecks are so pretty and it's sheer enough to wear with a heavy eye

Feelin' pretty =)

What I used on my Eyes
  • UD Primer Potion
  • NARS shadow in Ashes to Ashes
  • Tarte emphasEYES in black (along the lash line)
  • UD 24/7 Glide-on Pencil in Perversion (waterline. also my new obsession)
  • MAC Haute & Naughty mascara

What I used on my Lips
Smashbox gloss in Luster

Hope everyone is having a great week!! xoxo

Boring Shadows Need Not Apply

Remember when you used to buy eye shadows that were just one color? Not anymore. How boring, right? Ever since the baked eye shadow craze hit a few years back, tons of companies have been coming out with their own creations of wild shadows - swirled, baked, silk-screened, patterned, multi-colored, you name it. Here are some of my favorites - some new, some a bit older:

Vincent Longo

Milani

Rimmel

Maybelline

Milani

MAC's Quite Cute

Burberry

MAC's Semi Precious

MAC's Tartan Tale (Holiday collection)

Laura Mercier Baked Shadows

MAC in Lillyland

Too Faced Baked Shadows

Favorites? I am lusting over the Vincent Longo shade!!!

Daytime Smokey Eye Using Tokidoki Palette!

Daytime/work appropriate smokey eye

A tiny bit of liquid liner on the outer corners

Just a liiiitle bit of smoke =)

Sky high lashes

My new tokidoki eye palette!

Six shades, two different color stories

Devil Girl Cromatico Palette

I used these three shades for this look

Kiss!

What do you guys think?! I wanted to do a daytime smokey eye, nothing too dramatic for work. Plus it's the summer, so I tend to wear less makeup overall.

I am absolutely in LOVE with Riposino! It's such a gorgeous color alone, or with the other two shades as shown above. After getting lots of great tips from my previous "Do You SMOKE" post, I did this look today and was pretty happy with how it came out! Here's how it went down:

I primed by eyes with Urban Decay Primer Potion (as always) then started the shadows.I used Riposino all over the lid, Bulleto in the crease and outer corners of the eye, and used Thirsty as a highlighter for the brow bone. The colors are a little tough to capture on camera, but the shadows have great pigment and last a long time.

After I applied shadow, I put a tiny bit of black liquid liner on the top lid for definition, and topped the eyes off with MAC Haute & Naughty mascara.

How does it look? =)

Do You SMOKE?

Your eyes, that is. SMOKEY eye (I know, HA - HA right?)

I'm looking for eye shadows to create the perfect smokey eye look. I've used many different shadows previously to achieve this look, but I'm looking for the BEST. So I have to ask...

What are your weapons for the "perfect" smokey eye? I know you guys have some secrets, so share them with us!!

Cargo's Swimmables - Never Again

Everyone who reads my blog, knows that I hate giving products a negative review. However, I'm always honest and hope that others can learn from my experiences with new products.

Enter: Cargo's Swimmables. I was so excited to use these - they came in a gift set from Ulta and I love all 4 colors. My friend who was with me bought one as well. I tried the purple in my water line, thinking it would be safe since it's a waterproof pencil. BIG mistake. My eye stung the entire night I was out, and it made my eyes water terribly.

Even then, I gave them another chance, thinking well maybe I shouldn't have put the pencil under my eye, and instead tried the gold on my eye lid. Mistake number two. Same thing happened - my eyes were seemingly on fire, and after a few hours actually had to take the pencil off with eye makeup remover. Miserable! I'm sad, because:

1. I usually love Cargo products, and these were very disappointing
2. I did like the colors, and the pigment was very nice
3. I was looking for fun waterproof makeup to wear over the summer, and unfortunately after the above incidences they went right into the garbage can.

I don't usually have sensitive eyes either - I'm pretty good with wearing almost any eye shadow, mascara, liner and so on, so whatever was in these waterproof pencils did NOT agree with me!

Sorry for the negative/un-fun review guys. I will try posting something nice later ha! =)
