Pure Color Ecstasy

My two new obsessions from Estee Lauder:

Raspberry Pop Sparkle

I adore this lip gloss! I've been using it almost every day and it's beautiful. The shade looks very intense in the tube - almost like a deep berry - which I normally wouldn't go for. But once I swatched it on my hand (always the key) I loved it!

The formula is so silky and NOT sticky or tacky whatsoever. It wears very well, considering the hot summer weather, and it smells delicious. The Pure Color lip gloss line is new to Estee Lauder, and comes in 31 shades (!) and in a variety of finishes. Definitely worth a try, I can't get enough!

Sizzling Copper Metallic

The Pure Color eyeshadow is great as well! I lean towards goldish shades (I have hazel eyes - I feel like the gold brings out the green) and this one is really pretty. I like wearing it alone with a bit of mascara for work - it looks fresh and clean. It also works for the inner corners of the eyes if you're doing a smokey eye. After priming my lids, the eyeshadow stayed put fairly well.

Overall, adore the Pure Color line from Lauder and think it's worth a look next time you're shopping!! Anyone else try some shades?

Burberry Beauty is BELLA

Makeup snobs rejoice!

Burberry's beauty line has finally hit counters, and it looks just as beautiful as the clothing! The beauty line, which is sold currently at Nordstrom, includes lipsticks, lip liners, glosses, eye pencils, shadows, mascara, foundation, blush, powder and bronzer.

The beautiful pieces are inspired by, what else, Burberry's trademark trench coat. As reported by WWD online, the Burberry beauty line generated about $10,000 in only 5 hours in San Francisco! Crazy, huh? Currently, the makeup is sold only at 5 Nordstrom locations. The company plans to roll out the line to 30 stores within the next year.

But don't expect the Burberry line to give into fads or trends. They want their products to be classic, and plan to expand the line each season. The laser engraved makeup and luxurious packaging comes with a hefty price tag (it is Burberry, afterall). Lipsticks are $30, Bronzer is $48, etc. Being the makeup addict I am, it will be hard for me not to at least try ONE thing. I mean, it's research...right? If i'm spending $30 on a lipstick, it better make me look like Marilyn Monroe..

What do you guys think?

MAC - In The Groove

Bloomingdale's 59th & Lexington

Colour

Face

So, it's finally here! The much anticipated In The Groove launch has finally hit counters. Being an avid reader of makeup news and blogs, many makeup lovers have been very excited to get their hot little hands on some of these pieces!

I didn't purchase anything (yet) because I wanted to get some feedback. Did anyone get anything? Love it/hate it?

I'm not in love with the visual, but I do like the look of the collection. I think there is a lot of opportunity for creativity with all of the colour options. I also really like how they paired each lipstick with a pretty gloss.

I did ask for the ever-so-popular Stereo Rose that i've heard so much about, but Bloomie's was already sold out. Did anyone else pick one up? Share with us! xoxo

Lady Gaga to Have a Fragrance?

Hey guys. Saw this article and thought it was interesting! The source is Ranked.com:

Let the licensing games begin. Word on the webs this morning has it that the ubiquitous Lady Gaga will embark on olfactory domination by inking a deal to produce an eponymous fragrance with cosmetics company Coty. Rumor has it that the fragrance will be "unusual" (uh, no way, quelle surprise) and is scheduled to hit stores this holiday season, bolstered by a heavy dose of ads, marketing, and television commercials.

What do you guys think, do you know anyone that would be interested in a Gaga fragrance? I know some of you aren't big on celebrity scents, but who knows, this one might be cool! Let us know what you think =)

tokidoki prisma gloss - diamante

Hmm ok so i've been MIA for like a week, apologies! Hope everyone had an amazing 4th of July weekend =)

OK, so the prisma gloss is....ehh. Once again, I got sucked into the utter and complete cuteness of the packaging, and completely ignored the actual product.

The gloss is a strange texture - almost syrupy. It's very clear and gives the "wet lips" look. Not terrible, but not my cup of tea. It does have a pleasant smell though - like a strawberry/fruity scent.

I've tried a few times to take it out and play with it a bit, but don't like how it feels on. I've also tried putting it on top of a few different lipsticks, but it doesn't go on smoothly. So all in all, cute packaging but the prisma gloss isn't for me.

Sorry ladies! I really don't like writing negative reviews, but always want to give you the truth =) Anyone have any new favorite products I should try?
